The Women’s Club is dedicated to the support and betterment of the Lake Forest Community. Membership is open to all ladies of the community and former property owners. New members are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Each year our club has fundraisers and special events to benefit the community. In 2005 a silent auction was held as part of the Christmas Dinner/Dance to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. We also have several continuing yearly projects. We assist Mercy Medical by collection Christmas gifts annually to be given to the long term care residents at their Santa Claus party and as of 2006 have taken on the additional project of adopting children under Mercy Medicals home care program to provide Santa presents for those who otherwise would have none. Another yearly project is Women Helping Women. This project already provides food for women in need but does not provide paper or personal hygiene products so we fill that need with donations during the year.

In addition to all these good works we still manage to have fun. At Christmas the Country Club is beautifully decorated by some of our members as are the tables for our Christmas Dinner/Dance as well. Also not to be missed is our annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Dinner & Dance at the Yacht Club. So much fun!

The slate of officers for 2010- 2011 was presented and accepted as follows:

President: Connie Mahoney; First Vice President: Cookie White; Second Vice President: Patricia Popp; Treasurer: Marty Boor; Secretary: Alice Albright; Correspondence Secretary: Carol Irish. The Nominating Committee: Patricia Popp, Connie Mahoney and Alice Albright Alice reminded everyone that next month’s meeting, May 20th, will be a luncheon and installation of new officers at the Lake Forest Yacht Club. Social time is at 9:45 with the meeting beginning at10 a.m.
